The most striking aspect of this design is the Cimstone Statuario worktops with subtle veining that adds visual interest without overwhelming the space. This surface brings a light, airy feel and offers durability and easy maintenance. The island in this kitchen serves as both a centrepiece and a highly functional space, with the waterfall edge design further elevating its aesthetic and the material cascading down the sides, creating a continuous and seamless look.
Design Inspiration & Concept
Our clients were renovating the whole downstairs of their property, and Ornate completed all the rooms alongside our internal build team.
We seamlessly merged indoor and outdoor living, creating a vibrant and dynamic space perfect for everyday life and entertaining by removing an old conservatory and creating a new extension with bi-folds and a skylight. The doors, with their sleek black frames, open to the garden, allowing natural light to flood the kitchen while providing unobstructed views outside.
We changed the single garage and created a living area, a new front window and double doors leading into the kitchen. We also removed internal walls, creating a large opening kitchen with an island and a small space at the front for a snug area.
New Double French doors leading onto the garden offer a perfect setting for al fresco dining, summer barbecues, or simply enjoying a morning coffee with the fresh air.
Key Features & Innovation
We emphasised the minimalist design with black fixtures and a splashback that mirrors the worktops, creating a flow that visually expands the space.
The integrated seating area along one side of the island is suited for our client’s informal meals or conversations while cooking.
Embedded in the worktop is a wine cooler with a sleek and modern design and a minimalistic black circular opening that houses the wine bottle. The subtle glow from the cooler creates a visual focal point that enhances the aesthetic.
The built-in oven and microwave are neatly stacked within the cabinetry, ensuring they are easily accessible without disrupting the flow of the kitchen.
Execution & Feedback
As Ornate renovated all downstairs for our clients, this installation needed to be timely, smooth and efficient. We collaborated closely with them and the building team from start to finish, ensuring a stress-free process and applying concise planning and a proactive approach to prevent any obstacles from occurring.
The clients are overjoyed with their new kitchen and how it strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and functionality, leaving us a fantastic review online.
