The most successful aspects of the kitchen design include the spacious layout, ample worktop space, and the blend of traditional and modern elements. The new kitchen has significantly impacted the clients' lifestyle, providing a practical and beautiful space for their growing family. The energy-efficient appliances and high-quality materials have also contributed to an increase in the home's value and improved functionality.
Design Inspiration & Concept
The clients, a young professional family expecting their first child, purchased a charming period house requiring extensive renovations.
They added a contemporary extension at the back and desired a spacious, open-plan kitchen that seamlessly blended traditional and modern elements.
Inspired by the abundant natural light streaming through the large windows, bi-fold doors, and skylight, we aimed to create a bright and airy kitchen.
The design embraced a timeless classic look, ensuring it remained stylish and functional for years to come. The initial concept focused on maximising space and light, creating an inviting environment for both daily use and entertaining.
Key Features and Innovations
The kitchen features timber-framed shaker doors with a square bead, finished in Dakar and Cairngorm Moss from our own paint range.
A large island with feature posts serves as the room's centrepiece, providing ample workspace and seating.
The bespoke chimney breast houses the induction hob and side-by-side ovens, creating a striking focal point.
We used Cimstone Britannica quartz for the worktops, including upstands and window sills, adding a touch of elegance and durability.
Execution & Feedback
The kitchen installation took approximately four weeks, including the fitting of the stone worktops. Close collaboration with the clients and their builder ensured smooth project management and coordination.
Our detailed planning and hands-on approach prevented any significant obstacles, resulting in a seamless installation process.
The clients were over the moon with their new kitchen, leaving a glowing review online. When we returned to photograph the kitchen, they praised the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the space. They were particularly impressed with how the kitchen enhanced their daily activities and the overall value it added to their home.
